Black Friday Came and Gone

Well, Black Friday has came and gone. Have you ever thought of why they call it Black Friday? "Black" refers to the accounting term and procedure of showing profits in black ink as opposed to deficits in red ink! "Friday" is the day after Thanksgiving Day in the United States.

I am not one of those Black Friday nutcases. I do not understand why people would wake up at 3:00 a.m. the day after Thanksgiving aka Black Friday so that they can stand in line at their favorite stores, eyeballing every sale item, packing the shopping carts up sky high, going through the long check out line, and then the register rings and rings and rings and rings and rings up the early bird holiday savings! This human process is not my cup of tea!

If you like all the Black Friday savings you could have shopped online without leaving the comforts of your nice warm home office.

I researched online and found
black-friday.net. This site lets the consumer purchase Black Friday items online from a number of well known merchants without being one of those nutcases standing in line at the store at 3:00 a.m. Do you know that you could have signed up for email alerts from your favorite stores to let you know when new Black Friday ads have that been posted. black-friday.net is trying to make a consumer friendly site that is useful for planning holiday shopping!

Remember
black-friday.net for your 2008 Black Friday specials.

On Black Friday just sit down at your computer go to black-friday.net page and let your fingers do the shopping online. Hope this will be a great time management tool and useful information for you.

The True Meaning of Christmas

I found this awesome story about the True meaning of Christmas. I do not know who wrote this. I am sharing this with you. Please read and enjoy it.

THE TRUE MEANING OF CHRISTMAS

Just a week before Christmas I had a visitor. This is how it happened. I just finished the household chores for the night and was preparing to go to bed, when I heard a noise in the front of the house. I opened the door to the front room and to my surprise, Santa himself stepped out next to the fireplace.

"What are you doing?" I started to ask. The words choked up in my throat and I saw he had tears in his eyes. His usual jolly manner was gone. Gone was the eager, boisterous soul we all know. He then answered me with a simple statement . . .

"TEACH THE CHILDREN!" I was puzzled. What did he mean? He anticipated my question and with one quick movement brought forth a miniature toy bag from behind the tree. As I stood bewildered, Santa said, "Teach the children!
Teach them the old meaning of Christmas. The meaning that now-a-days Christmas has forgotten. "Santa then reached in his bag and pulled out a FIR TREE and placed it before the mantle. "Teach the children that the pure green color of the stately fir tree remains green all year round, depicting the everlasting hope of mankind, all the needles point heavenward, making it a symbol of man's thoughts turning toward heaven."
He again reached into his bag and pulled out a brilliant STAR. "Teach the children that the star was the heavenly sign of promises long ago. God promised a Savior for the world, and the star was the sign of fulfillment of His promise."

He then reached into his bag and pulled out a CANDLE. "Teach the children that the candle symbolizes that Christ is the light of the world, and when we see this great light we are reminded of He who displaces the darkness."

Once again he reached into his bag and removed a WREATH and placed it on the tree. "Teach the children that the wreath symbolizes the real nature of love. Real love never ceases. Love is one continuous round of affection."
He then pulled from his bag an ORNAMENT of himself. "Teach the children that I, Santa Claus, symbolize the generosity and good will we feel during the month of December."

He then brought out a HOLLY LEAF. "Teach the children that the holly plant represents immortality. It represents the crown of thorns worn by our Savior. The red holly berries represent the blood shed by Him.

Next he pulled from his bag a GIFT and said, "Teach the children that God so loved the world that he gave his begotten son." Thanks be to God for his unspeakable gift.

Santa then reached in his bag and pulled out a CANDY CANE and hung it on the tree. "Teach the children that the candy cane represents the shepherds' crook. The crook on the staff helps to bring back strayed sheep to the flock. The candy cane is the symbol that we are our brother's keeper."

He reached in again and pulled out an ANGEL. "Teach the children that it was the angels that heralded in the glorious news of the Savior's birth. The angels sang Glory to God in the highest, on earth peace and good will toward men."

Suddenly I heard a soft twinkling sound, and from his bag he pulled out a BELL,. "Teach the children that as the lost sheep are found by the sound of the bell, it should ring mankind to the fold. The bell symbolizes guidance and return.

Santa looked back and was pleased.

He looked back at me and I saw that the twinkle was back in his eyes. He said, "Remember, teach the children the true meaning of Christmas and do not put me in the center, for I am but a humble servant of the One that is, and I bow down to worship him, our LORD JESUS CHRIST, our GOD."

Do Not take things for Granted!

Look at your world! Look around you and realize how much to be thankful for. Stop and smell the roses!

At times I look outside of my world and it is ugly out there. TV and the Internet is always showing us the ugly big world.

Sometimes, I get sooooo absorbed by the negative forces and what is happening in our big world it makes me sad. Yes, I do get very upset, angry, sad, hurt, and very worried.

I am a mother and I am human. I think I am being a typical mother. Tell me if I am not. As a mother I am worried about what's happening with the outside big world. I am worried about our innocent children's future. Can I do something about it? The only thing I can do is, that I must look around me and realize how much to be thankful for. I can not change the negative forces in our big world.

Here are some steps in how to be thankful.

Look around you and pay attention to the people around you.
You will hear how everybody has something to worry or complain about. I know that pleanty of you out there focus on those who seem to have it all. Remember this, you never know what is going on inside of them. Ah, yes, they might look happy and worry free, but they might be unhappy as well. Do not look at others and think "I should have it like they do." Look around you and observe at those who aren't as fortunate as you are and take note of how blessed you are. Remember to always, count your blessings. Thank god for your blessings and pray for the unfortunate to have the same blessings that you have. If it helps, consider volunteering or start a relationship with someone who is not as fortunate and find small or gradual ways to help them.

Many of us need to practice acceptance.
People must stop dwelling on how things should be, what should of been, and what you don't have. Recognize what you do have--whether you like it or not. If you can accept it only you can change it for the better. Only you can take ownership what to keep or to change. Accept your life. Do not resign yourself to unhappiness. People must stop wasting time wishing for what we don't have.

Be proactive to the reactive and become a problem solver.
Make it a ritual by asking yourself how you can turn the negative into a positive. Notice, most successful people in life, and those who have the most to be grateful for, are also those who have endured tremendous trials, tribulations, and managed to have determination and turn it all around. They did not hesitate to take that reactive and turn it around to a proactive, they just did it. Do you take your lemons to make lemonade?

People must see hardship as a chance to develop ethos.
What ever hardship you are going through just sit back and imagine yourself looking back ten years from now and recounting your difficult circumstances, and being proud of how you handled it and worked through it. That is success!

Start a gratitude journal.

Yes, Oprah talks about this. It is pretty simple. At the end of your each and every day, pick up your journal and write down five to seven things that have made you happy or appreciative that day. It does not mean to write down the big things. Remember the small things that count.

Here is an example for you to think about for your journal

1) Write down that funny joke or a song you like

2) having people who love you

3) nice weather

4) being thanked by a customer at work

5) your pet that gives you unconditional love

6) You woke up to see the sun rise before your eyes

7) thankful for your blessings that god has provided for you and your family

Be satisfied, happy, joy full, pleased, and delighted, for the small things. Stop and smell a rose. Sit back and listen to silence. Blow some bubbles. Take a hot bath. Read a book or magazine. Walk that dog that gives you unconditional love. Go to a park and get lost. Be goofy. Watch that funny movie that you did not have time for and have a good laugh.

Remember, life's treasures are the small pleasures; give thanks for each small gift you receive!

Punk Rocker Soap Opera - Fake Soap Exposed

ESCONDIDO, CA – The Bronner family, makers of the popular organic Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps have released a new video of NarcoPouch® 928 field drug tests of its soaps and other brands. The results prove that the test kit which was used to jail Don Bolles, drummer for the legendary punk band The Germs http://germsreturn.com/ on April 4, will always give a false-positive for the drug GHB (Gamma Hydroxy Butyrate) if used on any true natural soap. However, in an interesting twist, the test will test negative for fake mislabeled “liquid soap” products that are actually detergent-based, not soap. The new video features David Bronner, President of Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps, using the NarcoPouch® 928 on a wide variety of common natural soaps as well as detergent based fake “soap” products.

The video can be viewed by clicking the following video link.

“Our testing shows that real soaps which are made using the ecological time-honored process of saponification of vegetable oil will always test positive for GHB, while complicated synthetic detergent-based so-called ‘liquid soaps’ test negative,” said David Bronner. “The NarcoPouch® 928 is a great test for determining if a product labeled ‘Soap’ actually contains real soap or not. It’s ironic that the flawed GHB field test used by cops shows in a graphic immediate way true versus fake soaps. Fortunately for Don Bolles, the much more accurate confirmation drug-testing by the Orange County crime lab proved our soap did not contain the drug GHB.”

Detergents in fake soap products are usually made in part or even entirely from petroleum along with vegetable feedstocks. For instance, Sodium Myreth Sulfate, the main ingredient in JASON’s so-called “Pure, Natural, & Organic Soap” is made by attaching ethylene oxide groups from petroleum to vegetable fatty acid, which also produces trace 1,4 dioxane as a side reaction. Olefin Sulfonate, the main ingredient in both Nature’s Gate ORGANICS “Soap” and Kiss My Face ObsessivelyOrganic “Soap”, is made entirely from petroleum. Cocamidopropyl Sultaine, the main ingredient in EO’s so-called soap, is in significant part petroleum-based.

Bronner laments: “Companies mislead consumers in conflating their detergent-based products with ecological biodegradable soaps, even calling these synthetic detergent products ‘organic’. Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps are real soaps made from real organic oils, while these other so-called ‘Soap’ products are detergents made from petroleum and conventional vegetable material. They are not soap, they are not organic, they are not natural.”

The crime lab confirmation test that exonerated Don Bolles and Dr. Bronner’s soaps of GHB, uses the GC-MS method which is much more accurate than the field drug test kits used by the Newport Beach Police. “Police departments nationwide should immediately stop using the ODV, Inc. field test for GHB as it is not accurate when used on soaps and who knows what other common household products,” said Bronner. ODV, Inc, maker of NarcoPouch® 928 Inc is a subsidiary of Armor Holdings, Inc. The company has done nothing to alert police departments about the false positives when used on natural soap.

According to retired FBI agent and forensics expert Dr. Frederick Whitehurst, “There is no effort by the National Academies of Science to validate forensic science protocols and there are no national standards for presumptive field drug tests. I believe our freedoms are being infringed upon because of fake science.”
